For 3 players, do you still deal 5 cards and toss 1 to the crib? How do you make the crib 4 cards?

How do you make the crib 4 cards?

We deal 5 cards each, everyone discards 1. Then dealer deals one extra card face down into the crib to make 4 total.

We tried a 6 card deal with 2 discards, but it felt slow. The extra card method is smoother.

Also use a 3 track board or just rotate colors on a 2 track if you have to.
