If someone says go and I play a card, do I always get 1 point? What if I hit 31?

If someone says go and I play a card, do I always get 1 point?

If you play a card after your opponent says go, you score 1 unless you make 31, then its 2. 31 replaces the go point.

Last card before the count resets is also 1 point if you did not make 31.

If both of you are stuck and the count is below 31, the person who played last still pegs 1.

We call out go loudly so there is no confusion. Keeps the pace smooth.
