Re: Cut for deal: lowest card vs seven rule?
We always cut for deal with low card wins. A friend told me their group uses closest to seven. Is that a real thing?

their group uses closest to seven
Standard is lowest card wins, but some variants use closest to seven. Ive heard it in lowball or Costanza style games.
We do lowest card and re-cut for ties. Using seven sounds fun for a house rule.
If you want to try it, just be clear which cards count as closest when both are above or below seven.
