Re: Costanza rules clarification: scoring to lose?
We play Costanza cribbage once a year. Goal is to be the last to reach 60, right?
Do you still count a go point if it would push you past 60?

Our house rule is you are trying to avoid scoring. If you hit 60, you are out and the remaining player wins.
We still award go and 31 points even if you dont want them. Thats the tension.
We call it giveaway cribbage. The person who hits 60 loses and the other wins.
In pegging we avoid runs and 15s at all costs. It feels backwards.
We also change the cut for deal to closest to seven. Fits the Costanza vibe.
We still use a standard board and peg backwards after 60. It helps track who is in danger.
We play to 121 but lowest score wins. It takes longer but you get more hands.
Interesting. We might try the 121 low score version next time.
We let players choose to forfeit the crib if they are in danger. Makes the late game wild.
Whatever you pick, write it down. Costanza needs clear rules to avoid arguments.
